How to Take a Good Photo of Your Drawing
Your drawing is ready? Then a good photo is the next step.
The quality of your final design directly depends on the photo you upload. With these tips and the instructional video, you'll learn how to take a sharp, straight, and clear photo.
5 tips for a perfect photo of your drawing
Use your smartphone (high quality)
Smartphones have excellent resolution. If your phone allows it, always send us the highest quality photo. The larger the photo you send us, the better the result.
Photograph in daylight
Preferably use natural light. Place your artwork next to a window or take a photo outside in daylight.
Lay your drawing flat
Secure the corners of the paper to the surface if necessary.
Take the photo straight from above
Get as close to the drawing as possible, but do not cut off any part of the drawing.
Avoid shadows and wrinkles
Everything that appears in the photo will be included in your final design.
Good examples of photos
Sharp and well-lit
The drawing is in the middle of the photo. The photo is sharp and clear.
Standing or lying down (both possible)
They will both fit well. Choose the size that works best for you.
Photos you should better avoid
Too little light
Take the photo in bright and even light.
Shadows on your drawing
Avoid shadows and wrinkles on paper.
Blurry photo
Make sure to take a sharp photo.
Not photographed straight
